I am the Mom of two children and they are the inspiration that begins my story...
Our'First Scribbles'product line was launched one day as I was having a conversation with my daughter about starting first grade. I wanted to inspire her so she would look forward to her first day! I decided to show her drawings that her older brother had made when he was in first grade. As I was viewing them with her I decided I would love to have a pendant made from a heart drawing my son had made me. I would also love to wear earrings from a flower he had cut out from construction paper. I imagined wearing them and how excited both children would be that their creations could be worn as sterling silver jewelry! I remembered their first attempts at drawing which of course were scribbles. (But, they didn't know that!) They were each an artist in their own right. I then browsed through their first scribbled drawings. I was reminded that each scribble was as unique as they were. I wanted to honor those scribbles. That is why I chose 'First Scribbles' as our company name. I then decided to create other non-jewelry products from my children's scribbles and drawings. We then launched our 'First Scribbles' product line for other's to enjoy the creations of children they love! From a toddler's scribbles to a college student's writings or drawings you can let them know that what they do is of value to you! Parents as well as Grandparents, Godparents, Aunts, Uncles and Siblings can choose from a variety of products.
Our 'Designing Love' product line [dedicated to healing broken hearts] was launched one day as I was speaking to a woman on the phone who had lost her 2 year-old child. Tears came to my eyes and I cried as I sensed her loss and pain. I wanted to reach through the phone and wrap a pendant of her son's drawings or scribbles around her neck to help fill the emptiness where her child had once been. It was at that defining moment that I realized that First Scribbles was destined to touch many more lives and so began 'Designing Love'! I had also lost both my Mother and Father when I was in my late 20's which were also grandparents to my first child at that time. I had saved greeting cards and notes they once signed and will have custom designed products from their writings made for myself, my children, my brothers and their children to enjoy! Whether you are healing from the loss of a child, parent (of children 18 years and younger) or a child sibling we want to extend one of the 'Designing Love' products as a free emotional healing gift and offer supportive referral links at the right of this page. We may not always understand why there is grief and pain, but we do understand how to comfort each other. We will also accept donations of any amount if anyone would like to contribute a monetary gift to 'Designing Love'. A non-profit is currently being established.
